MyPath101 Website Privacy Policy

The following Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs the online information collection practices of MyPath101 LLC” (“MyPath101” or “we” or “us”). Specifically, it outlines the types of information that we gather about you while you are visiting or using the MyPath101 website (the “Site” or “Web Site”), and the ways in which we use this information. This Privacy Policy, including our children’s privacy statement, does not apply to any information you may provide to us or that we may collect offline and/or through other means (for example, at a live event, via telephone, or through the mail).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting and using the Site, you agree that your use of our Site, and any dispute over privacy, is governed by this Privacy Policy. Because the Web is an evolving medium, we may need to change our Privacy Policy at some point in the future, in which case we’ll post the changes to this Privacy Policy on this website and update the Effective Date of the policy to reflect the date of the changes. By continuing to use the Site after we post any such changes, you accept the Privacy Policy as modified.

The purpose of this Policy is to explain the type of information that the Company collects, what we do with that information, and with whom the Company shares this information.  Anyone who provides personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) or any other information to the Company consents to the collection, use and disclosure of such information under the terms of this Policy. 

This Policy applies to both our clients and registered users to whom we provide services (“Clients”) and to those individuals who browse and use our Site, including prospective customers (“Visitors”). 

How We Collect and Use Information and Your Agreement to Such Use

Personal Information. We may collect and store personal or other information that you voluntarily supply to us online while using the Site (e.g., while on the Site or in responding via email to a feature provided on the Site). MyPath101.com only contacts individuals who specifically request that we do so or in the event that they have signed up to receive our free newsletters or have purchased one of our products. MyPath101.com collects personally identifying information from our users during online registration and online purchasing and also may collect such data from other online forms and surveys. Generally, this information includes name and e-mail address for registration to receive our free newsletters and name, postal address, and credit card information when purchasing our products. All of this information is provided to us by you and is referred to herein as “Personal Information.”

Aggregate Information. We also collect aggregate information, which means information about groups or categories of guests, from which individual identities or other personal information has been removed such that the aggregate information which does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify a registered user. 

Anonymnous Information. In addition to aggregate information, we may collect other anonymous information that does not directly or indirectly identify, and cannot reasonably be used to identify, a registered user. 

Cookies. We also collect and store information that is generated automatically as you navigate online through the Site. For example, we may collect information about your computer’s connection to the Internet, which allows us, among other things, to improve the delivery of our web pages to you and to measure traffic on the Site. We also may use a standard feature found in browser software called a “cookie” to enhance your experience with the Site. Cookies are small files that your web browser places on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes. By showing how and when visitors use the Site, cookies help us deliver advertisements, identify how many unique users visit us, and track user trends and patterns. They also prevent you from having to re-enter your preferences on certain areas of the Site where you may have entered preference information before. The Site also may use web beacons (single-pixel graphic files also known as “transparent GIFs”) to access cookies and to count users who visit the Site or open HTML-formatted email messages.

Click Tracking. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the Web Site, track users’ movements around the Web Site and gather demographic information about the user base as a whole. Except as noted herein, this automatically-collected data is not linked to Personal Information.

IP Addresses. Each user’s IP address is logged with each visit and each action performed on the Web Site. This information is never provided to third parties, except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, and is logged only for a temporary period of time. IP address information is linked to Personal Information and may be used in an effort to block a “banned” user from accessing the Web Site.

Children. Minors under the age of 13 may not use the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13, and no part of the Website is designed to attract anyone under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 13 we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.  MyPath101 LLC does not sell products for purchase by children. We do sell products that may be purchased by adults from other companies that will market to children.

Use of Personal Information. We use the information we collect from you while you are using the Site in a variety of ways, including using the information to customize features. We also may provide your information to third parties, such as service providers and contractors,  for a variety of purposes. Unless you inform us in accordance with the process described below, we reserve the right to use, and to disclose to third parties, all of the information collected from and about you while you are using the Site in any way and for any purpose, such as to enable us or a third party to provide you with information about products and services. If you do not wish your information to be used for these purposes, you must send a letter to the Online Privacy Coordinator whose address is listed at the end of this Privacy Policy requesting to be taken off any lists of information that may be used for these purposes or that may be given or sold to third-parties.

Public Information. Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make your personal information available for viewing by third parties online – for example on message boards, web logs, through email, or in chat areas – that information can be seen, collected and used by others besides us. We cannot be responsible for any unauthorized third-party use of such information.

Links to Other Websites. The Site also includes links to other websites and provides access to products and services offered by third parties, whose privacy policies we do not control. When you access another website or purchase third-party products or services through the Site, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting or the provider of such products or services.

Provider Partners. We may also make some content, products and services available through our Site through cooperative relationships with third-party providers, where the brands of our provider partner appear on the Site in connection with such content, products and/or services. We may share with our provider partner any information you provide, or that is collected, in the course of visiting any pages that are made available in cooperation with our provider partner. In some cases, the provider partner may collect information from you directly, in which cases the privacy policy of our provider partner may apply to the provider partner’s use of your information. The privacy policy of our provider partners may differ from ours. If you have any questions regarding the privacy policy of one of our provider partners, you should contact the provider partner directly for more information.

Use of Anonymous and Aggregate Information. Anonymous information is used to analyze Web Site traffic, but this information is not examined for individually identifying information. In addition, anonymous IP addresses may be used to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web Site, or to display the content according to your preferences. Traffic and transaction information may also be shared with business partners on an aggregate and anonymous basis.  We may aggregate information publicly and with our partners – such as colleges and universities, publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services. In addition, aggregate information may be useful to our college and university partners in assisting with the college to career transition.

Use of Cookies. Cookies may be used to deliver content specific to your interests. Promotions or advertisements displayed on the Web Site may contain cookies. We do not have access to or control over information collected by outside advertisers on the Web Site.

Disclosure of Personal Information. Unless permitted by law, no Personal Information is collected about an individual without first obtaining the consent of the individual to the collection, use and dissemination of that information.  Consent may be written, verbal or implied as necessary to further your needs.  Personal Information will be collected, to the extent possible, directly from the individual concerned.  Personal Information may be disclosed if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (1) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on the Web Site, (2) protect and defend the rights or property of MyPath101 or the users of this Web Site, or (3) act under circumstances to protect the safety of the public or users of this Web Site.  When obliged to do so, we will not disclose more information than is required.

For Legal Reasons. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of MyPath101 if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to: 

  • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request. 
  • enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations. 
  • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues. 
  • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of MyPath101, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Security. We have security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information that is obtained from you, but there are no assurances about our ability to prevent any such loss, misuse or alteration to you or to any third party arising out of any such loss, misuse, or alteration.

Transfer of Assets. Please also note that as our business grows, we may buy or sell various assets. In the unlikely event that we sell some or all of our assets or one of our websites is acquired by another company, information about our users may be among the transferred assets.

How do we store your information?

Your information is stored at the list server that delivers MyPath101.com newsletters and emails. Your information can only be accessed by those on our team who help manage our lists in order to deliver e-mail to those who have subscribed to receive MyPath101.com newsletters or emails. All of the newsletters or emails that are sent to you by MyPath101.com include an unsubscribe link in them. You can remove yourself at any time from our newsletters or mailing list by clicking on the unsubscribe link that can be found in every communication that we send you.

Disputes If you choose to access, visit, browse, shop on or otherwise use this Web Site, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and this Web Site’s Terms  of Use, including limitations on damages, resolution of disputes, and application of the law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  If you have any concern about privacy at this Web Site, please contact us with a thorough description, and we will try to resolve it.  Any dispute relating in any way to your visit to the Web Site or to products or services sold or distributed by MyPath101 or through the Web Site that cannot be resolved informally shall be adjudicated exclusively in any state or federal court in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
